Beyond Making Scents, LLC's owner, JoAnn Pilston, enjoyed scented candles in her home, but did not
appreciate the effects of the inherent soot and smoke on her walls, not to mention the subtle, but
cumulating soiling effects on furniture and all household goods.
JoAnn did a vast amount of research on candle making, and different materials available to make candles more
user friendly.
The result of their exhaustive research was the realization that the annoying soot and smoke also contained
many chemicals (some which are known toxins) that could potentially harm people and animals that are exposed to them on a
regular basis.
